Whether it’s music, food or comedy the best festivals run smoothly and safely.

The joy of a festival is being able to celebrate without a worry in the world, and that applies to you, as an organiser. Our experience in staging big and small festivals will take away any stress so you can focus on the acts and the people who come to celebrate.

Three days of musical escapism

The Brief:

Fender, the world’s leading guitar manufacturers, with an illustrious history dating back to 1946, asked us to design and install a lighting rig for their stage at The Great Escape, a three-day music festival at Brighton’s Old Market Theatre to showcase headliners Anna Calvi, Shame and Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes. The question was: How do you make a tiny club feel like a rock venue?

What We Did:

Pre-production work included SketchUp visuals, pre-visualisation with Capture software and lighting plots, as well as liaising with each artist's lighting designers. Twelve set-ups were choreographed for each act, from slow washes for downtempo performances to fast high-impact beam movements for the uptempo artists. Our Lighting director operated the rig on site over the three days. We also provided a vintage backdrop for the DJ with Edison filament bulbs of varying heights against a theatre-style red velvet drape.

What They Said:

“John and his team made it happen. They were true pros, a pleasure to work with and I look forward to working with them in the future.”

Jo McKinney - Fender
